I am excited, yet nervous to teach my first class post car wreck...it's an innocent nervousness-like I'm not REALLY nervous, yet I have butterflies already! I guess this is just part of being human. I plan on doing a basic beginner class, I imagine my students and I starting from scratch together. We are fresh to our practice, once again. Even though most have continued practicing, we are re-newed as a group.
I look forward to the good energy of my classes, I look forward to that feeling I always get after every class, I look forward to continuing our yoga journey,I look forward to what my heart will share... ~Namaste my beloved students, see you on the mat soon <3

I went to this conference in San Diego and was able to attend classes with 6 different teachers over the weekend.
My first class was with Bhava Ram of deepyoga.com His class message was: Own your power-Live your truth It was a fun filled class that included dance/movement, singing, chanting, praying, asana, lecture and relaxation. I am very inspired by this man and his journey to yoga and self-healing. Next was Holotropic Breathing, a practice that uses the breath to allow access to nonordinary states for the purpose of self-exploration with Steve Ross. I had a neat experience in this session, I did enter a "non-ordinary" state, and I am interested in trying this technique in the future. Marla Apt, a well known Iyengar teacher was my next session. Her class was focussed on yoga for the neck and shouldres. She taught us ways to strengthen and release our muscles in poses. We experimented with muscle isolation and ways to use props to take poses deeper and also ways to modify poses. Sunday my first session was with Jill Miller, where we learned about the "bony landmarks" of the body, along with the various layers we are made up of(we got to see pictures of cadavers muscles and fascia,oh my) I felt I really got to know my anatomy on a deeper level because of this course. Session 2 was with a wonderful teacher named Aadil Palklova. It was all about the "Art of seeing" your students clearly, their alignment, their energy in a pose and then how to make adjustments-both verbal and physical. My last class was a Chair yoga class. My teacher Claire Diab taught us a basic chair yoga session-including a sun salutation, simple poses and a relaxation. I found this course very informative. It is always very inspiring to be at an event like this-with so many like minded people(yoga geeks, lol) and wonderful teachers. I look forward to incorporating many of the things I learned into the classes I give. My deepest appreciation goes to Organic Valley for making ...that is the human body...daily I am awe-inspired by it's ability to heal itself...its ability to function with out any thought on my part...its ability to re-fresh and re-new...but to do these things, the body does need LOVE... Love in the form of rest, plenty of water, exercise, good nutrition, meditation and healthy thoughts. Of course we all know a body can survive without many of the mentioned "Love" items...and this is our goal as "yogi's", as humans wanting to be conscious creators on our life journey...This has become crystal clear to me in recent months. Treating your vessel/body with as much love and care yields amazing results-in so many areas of our existence! So elementary it seems...yet, we all could use a reminder---frequently!
This has been my affirmation lately. What does it mean?
It means that our inspiration is free to be what it is, no questions asked. It means that our inspiration is free-no charge from the universe...lol :D It means that Divine inspiration truly comes from within, we only have to listen to the subtle(and sometimes not-so-subtle) to know. Free divine inspiration can be called upon in all areas of life...especially our yoga practice. What poses just FEEL right today? and how long to hold? and when to practice and to what music or no music? meditative or more active? the list goes on....what it's really about is tuning into your inner guidance for inspiration. |
